I work with a very diverse population of families, and am an open and accepting care provider. | Training: Directly Supervised Internship in Lactation Support: I have spent the last three years working with Sonja Massey, BSN, RN, PHN, IBCLC . I have logged over 4,500 hours of hands-on experience helping breastfeeding mothers. With Sonja, I have attended lactation conferences to further my education, and deepen my understanding of human lactation. I am happy to offer proof of my education and certification upon request. ________________________________________________ Doula Training: I have completed a DONA approved doula training with Felicia Roche, CD(DONA). I have completed a doula training course with Dionne Knudsen, CD, as well I have attended several comprehensive childbirth education courses for professionals, along with the Midwives of North America (MANA) Conference at Asilomar, CA in 2009. ______________________________________ Continuing Education: In order to earn and maintain my credentials to practice, I must complete a certain number of hours of continuing education from approved resources. To that end, I have attended a number of Lactation-specific conferences, which are weekend (and sometimes week-long) events with speakers who are distinguished in the field of lactation through research and study in various topics and sub-fields. I maintain the CEU documents and conference syllabi as proof of my continuing education, and they're available for anyone interested in seeing them. (I may not reproduce the syllabi in any way, as they're the intellectual property of their respective authors.) |
